Bellampalle is a town in the Godavari valley coal belt of northern Telangana. The surrounding region is associated with the operations of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), and the town has historically grown around coal mining activity. The railway station provides connectivity to the wider rail network for the local mining settlements and adjoining mandals.

Line and connectivity

The Kazipet–Balharshah section is a double-line electrified corridor and forms a critical link between South India and central and northern India. The route carries a high density of long-distance passenger trains as well as freight, including coal traffic originating from the Singareni belt. Bellampally lies between Mancherial and Sirpur Kagaznagar on this stretch.

Significance

Because of its position on a principal trunk route, the station serves both as a passenger halt for the town and as part of the broader logistical network that moves coal from the Singareni mines to thermal power plants and industrial users elsewhere in India. Several mail, express and passenger trains operating between cities such as Hyderabad, Nagpur, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai pass through the section.
