The railway station provides daily commuter access to Howrah, Santragachi, Uluberia and other points along the South Eastern Railway's suburban corridor.
The station is located on the Howrah–Kharagpur section, one of the busiest railway corridors in eastern India. This route forms part of the historic alignment that connects Kolkata with Chennai via the Howrah–Chennai main line. Local Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) services link Bauria with Howrah Junction in the north and with stations such as Uluberia, Bagnan, Mecheda and Kharagpur to the south.
Bauria station plays an important role in the daily movement of industrial workers and commuters between the riverside manufacturing belt of Howrah district and Kolkata. Its proximity to long-established mills and factories has made it a key suburban halt on the corridor.
