The Bahubali franchise crossover refers to the various extensions of the Baahubali cinematic universe beyond its two principal feature films, Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), both directed by S. S. Rajamouli and produced by Arka Media Works. The crossover material spans animation, live-action streaming series, novels, graphic novels, theatrical productions, and video games, expanding the mythology of the fictional kingdom of Mahishmati and its central characters.

Following the commercial success of the two films, Arka Media Works, led by producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni, developed an expanded universe to explore the backstories of supporting characters and earlier generations of the Mahishmati royal family. The expansion was guided by the writing of K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, the screenwriter of the films, with input from S. S. Rajamouli as creative producer on several spin-off projects.
Baahubali: The Lost Legends is an animated television series that premiered on Amazon Prime Video and later aired on Colors TV. Produced by Arka Mediaworks and Graphic India, it is set between the events depicted in the two feature films and follows the younger years of Amarendra Baahubali and Bhallaladeva at the Mahishmati court.
Baahubali: Before the Beginning was announced as a live-action prequel series for Netflix, intended to adapt Anand Neelakantan's novel The Rise of Sivagami and trace the early life of the queen mother Sivagami. The project was developed but did not reach a wide release in its initially announced form.
Author Anand Neelakantan wrote a literary trilogy authorised by Arka Media Works, beginning with The Rise of Sivagami (2017), followed by Chaturanga and Queen of Mahishmati. The books expand the political intrigue of Mahishmati a generation before the films and introduce characters not seen on screen.
In partnership with Graphic India, the franchise produced graphic novels including The Battle of the Bold and digital comics extending the cinematic narrative. These works adapt episodes referenced in dialogue in the films, such as Baahubali's diplomatic missions across allied kingdoms.
A theatrical stage production based on the franchise was developed by Felicis Entertainment in collaboration with Arka Media Works, presenting key sequences from the saga in a live musical format.
Tie-in mobile games, including titles released around the time of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, allowed players to engage with combat scenarios drawn from the films. Moonfrog Labs and other developers released gaming content under licence.
The Baahubali crossover represents one of the earliest sustained attempts in Indian cinema to build a multi-format, transmedia franchise around an original intellectual property rather than a pre-existing literary or mythological source. By coordinating animation, print, live performance and gaming around a common canon, it set a precedent for later Indian film franchises seeking to extend a single cinematic world across distribution platforms. It also marked an early major collaboration between an Indian film studio and global streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix for original franchise content.
