Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) is a public university located in Faridkot, Punjab, India. It is named after the revered Sufi saint Baba Farid, whose association with the town of Faridkot is part of the region's cultural heritage.
The university was established in July 1998 under Punjab Act No. 18. It functions as a specialised state university dedicated to education and training in the health sciences.
As a health sciences university, BFUHS serves as an affiliating and examining body for institutions in its jurisdiction, covering disciplines within the broad field of medical and allied health education. Its establishment reflected the policy of consolidating health sciences education in Punjab under a single dedicated university.
