The Orange Line of the Nagpur Metro runs broadly along a north–south alignment through the city, connecting Automotive Square in the north to Khapri in the south. As the terminus at the northern end, Automotive Square handles the originating and terminating services for trains running on this corridor, and provides access to the surrounding industrial and residential areas of north Nagpur.
The station is situated near Automotive Square, an important road junction in the northern part of Nagpur. It is designed to integrate with city bus services and informal public transport, offering last-mile connectivity for commuters travelling between north Nagpur and the city centre, railway station area, and the southern suburbs along the corridor.
As one of the two end stations of the Orange Line, Automotive Square plays a structural role in the operations of the Nagpur Metro, anchoring services on the North–South corridor.
