Ashok Kumar, better known as Ashok Kushwaha, is an Indian politician and a former Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly representing the Sasaram Assembly constituency. He has served in the state legislature on more than one occasion, contesting elections from this seat in southern Bihar.
Kushwaha was associated with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for much of his political career. He was first elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly in the 2000 assembly elections on an RJD ticket. He returned to the assembly after winning the 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from Sasaram, defeating Jawahar Prasad of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Ahead of the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, Kushwaha shifted his allegiance from the RJD to the Janata Dal (United) (JDU). He was fielded as the JDU candidate from the Sasaram constituency, where he was pitted against Rajesh Kumar Gupta of the Rashtriya Janata Dal. Kushwaha was defeated in the 2020 contest.
