Asanboni railway station is a small railway station serving the locality of Asanboni in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, India. It lies on the Howrah–Mumbai main line and falls under the administrative jurisdiction of the Chakradharpur railway division of South Eastern Railway.

Asanboni is a wayside station situated between the major junctions of Tatanagar and Chakradharpur. The station serves nearby villages and industrial settlements in the mineral-rich belt of southern Jharkhand. As a halt-class station on a busy trunk route, its primary role is to provide local passenger access; most long-distance express and mail services pass through without stopping.
The Howrah–Mumbai corridor through Tatanagar and Chakradharpur is one of the oldest and most important rail routes in eastern India, originally developed by the Bengal Nagpur Railway in the late nineteenth century to connect Calcutta with central and western India and to serve the coal, iron and steel industries of the Chota Nagpur Plateau. Stations along this stretch, including Asanboni, were established to support the freight and passenger traffic generated by these industries.
After the reorganisation of Indian Railways, the route came under the South Eastern Railway zone, with the Chakradharpur division managing operations through East Singhbhum and the surrounding region.
The station is served chiefly by passenger and MEMU services operating between Tatanagar and Chakradharpur, and onward to Rourkela. It does not function as a major commercial or junction station, and facilities are limited to those typical of a halt on a double-electrified main line.
Although small in scale, Asanboni contributes to last-mile connectivity for residents of rural East Singhbhum and supports commuter movement to the industrial centres of Jamshedpur and Tatanagar. The route on which it lies is fully electrified and double-tracked, forming part of one of the busiest freight corridors in the country.
