Aryaman Birla belongs to the Birla family, one of India's most prominent business dynasties. The family controls the Aditya Birla Group, a multinational conglomerate with interests in metals, cement, textiles, financial services, and telecommunications. He is the great-grandson of G. D. Birla and the grandson of Aditya Vikram Birla, after whom the group is named.
Despite his family's industrial background, Aryaman pursued cricket from a young age, training at academies in Mumbai and abroad before entering domestic competition in India.
Aryaman Birla represents Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket. A left-handed batsman, he made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy, India's premier first-class tournament. He has also featured in domestic limited-overs competitions for the same side.
In the Indian Premier League, he was signed by the Rajasthan Royals franchise, although he did not feature in match-day playing elevens during his association with the squad.
In 2019, Aryaman announced an indefinite break from competitive cricket, citing health-related reasons, and has since been associated more closely with the family's business interests, including initiatives in the mental health and wellness space.
Alongside his sporting career, Aryaman has been involved with ventures linked to the Aditya Birla Group. He has supported initiatives connected with Mpower, a mental health awareness organisation founded by his mother Neerja Birla under the Aditya Birla Education Trust.
Aryaman Birla's career attracted attention as an unusual instance of a scion of a major Indian industrial family choosing professional cricket as a pathway, briefly bridging two distinct spheres of Indian public life — corporate enterprise and competitive sport.
