Her portrayal has been widely recognised at Indian television awards.

Gaurav Khanna joined the show as Anuj Kapadia, a successful businessman and Anupamaa's college friend who becomes her second husband in the storyline. Khanna had previously appeared in shows such as Meri Doli Tere Angana and Prem Ya Paheli – Chandrakanta.
Madalsa Sharma played Kavya, initially Vanraj's romantic interest and later his second wife. Sharma is known for her work in Telugu and Hindi films before her television debut.
The cast of Anupamaa is notable for combining established television actors with cinema crossovers, and the serial has consistently ranked among the most-watched Hindi general entertainment programmes since its launch.
