Sanklecha came through the domestic age-group structure in Maharashtra and graduated to the senior side, where he featured as a frontline pace bowler. In Indian domestic cricket, left-arm seamers are valued for the angle they create against right-handed batters and for providing variety in the new-ball attack, a role he has performed for his state.
He has appeared in the Ranji Trophy, India's premier first-class competition, as well as the Vijay Hazare Trophy (List A) and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (Twenty20), all organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
As part of the Maharashtra cricket team, Sanklecha is among the pool of left-arm pace bowlers contributing to the Elite Group of the Ranji Trophy. The Maharashtra Cricket Association is headquartered in Pune, with home matches played at the MCA Stadium, Gahunje.
