Apart from his work in entertainment, Saxena has been associated with the family-run pharmaceutical business Elder Pharmaceuticals, which was founded by his father Jagdish Saxena. He has been involved with the company in an executive capacity alongside his career in front of the camera.
Saxena rose to prominence with the Star Plus serial Kkavyanjali, in which he played the male lead. The show, produced by Balaji Telefilms, helped establish him as a recognisable face on Hindi general entertainment television. He has also appeared in other television projects in supporting and lead roles.
Saxena moved into Hindi cinema as both an actor and producer. Through his banner Chase Films, he produced and acted in projects including the thriller Chase. He has appeared in other Hindi films in lead and supporting capacities, working with a mix of mainstream and independent filmmakers.
Saxena is part of a generation of Indian television actors from the early 2000s who used the popularity of saas-bahu and youth-oriented Hindi serials as a launchpad into film production and entrepreneurship. His parallel involvement in the pharmaceutical sector also places him among Indian screen personalities with active business interests outside entertainment.
