Moudgil hails from Chandigarh and took up competitive shooting at a young age, training within the Indian shooting circuit that has produced a generation of internationally competitive rifle and pistol athletes. Alongside her sporting career, she has pursued higher education, with reported interests in psychology and the arts.
One of the milestones of her career came at the ISSF World Championships held in Changwon, South Korea in 2018, where she earned a silver medal in the 10 metre air rifle event. The performance secured an Olympic quota place for India in the discipline, making her among the early Indian shooters to qualify a quota for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, Moudgil won a silver medal in the 50 metre rifle three positions event, contributing to India's strong performance in shooting at the Games.
She represented India at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (held in 2021) in rifle events, as part of the Indian shooting contingent.
Moudgil has been a regular fixture on the ISSF World Cup circuit, competing in individual and team events and contributing to India's medal tally in mixed team and team competitions in air rifle.
Moudgil is regarded as one of the leading Indian women rifle shooters of her generation. Her consistency in both the 10 m air rifle and the 50 m rifle three positions events is notable, as relatively few Indian shooters have competed at the elite level in both disciplines simultaneously. Her 2018 World Championship silver is considered a landmark, both for the medal itself and for the Olympic quota it secured for the country.
