Anjan Dutt is an Indian filmmaker, singer-songwriter, actor and playwright associated primarily with Bengali cinema and Bengali popular music. Anjan Dutt began his career in the performing arts through theatre in Kolkata, working in the city's vibrant Bengali stage circuit before moving into cinema. His early visibility as an actor came through art-house Bengali films, after which he extended his work into music and, eventually, direction.
Dutt is closely associated with the films of director Mrinal Sen, having appeared in works such as Chaalchitra.
