Ambur railway station (station code: AB) is a railway station serving the town of Ambur in the Tirupathur district of Tamil Nadu, India. Ambur is a town situated along the Palar river in the Tirupathur district of northern Tamil Nadu. The railway station is located within the town and connects it to nearby population centres including Vaniyambadi, Jolarpettai, Vellore and Katpadi to the east, and Bengaluru and Bangarapet to the west. The town is widely known for its leather and tannery industry, and the station has historically supported the movement of workers, traders and goods linked to this sector.
