Akalkot Road railway station is a railway station serving the town of Akalkot Road in the Solapur district of Maharashtra, India. It lies on the Solapur–Wadi section of the Central Railway zone of Indian Railways and provides connectivity for the surrounding region of southeastern Maharashtra.

The station is positioned on the broad-gauge route linking Solapur Junction with Wadi Junction, an important connection between the Mumbai–Chennai trunk corridor and the Secunderabad direction. It is the nearest railway station for travellers heading to the town of Akalkot, which is well known as a pilgrimage centre associated with Shri Swami Samarth.
Akalkot Road station lies a short distance east of Solapur Junction. Akalkot town, which gives the station its name, is located several kilometres away from the railhead and is usually accessed by road from the station. The Solapur–Wadi line on which the station is situated forms part of the route between Maharashtra and northern Karnataka, with Wadi Junction serving as the connecting point onward to Secunderabad and other destinations.
The station is primarily used by passenger and local services running on the Solapur–Wadi corridor, providing access for residents of nearby villages and pilgrims travelling to Akalkot. Express trains traversing the section may pass through without halting, depending on their stoppage pattern.
The station is significant for pilgrim traffic, given its role as a rail access point to Akalkot, a major Hindu pilgrimage destination in Maharashtra. It also serves agricultural and small-town movement in the eastern part of Solapur district.
