Ajay Kumar Mandal is an Indian politician who served as a member of the 17th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India. Mandal entered electoral politics through the Janata Dal (United), a regional party founded by leaders including Nitish Kumar and George Fernandes that has remained a major political force in Bihar. The party has been a long-standing partner in the National Democratic Alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party at the national level.
Mandal was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha in the 2019 Indian general election from the Bhagalpur constituency. The Bhagalpur seat covers parts of Bhagalpur district in eastern Bihar, an important commercial and cultural centre on the southern bank of the Ganga, historically known for its silk weaving industry.
As a Member of Parliament during the term of the 17th Lok Sabha, which convened in June 2019 and concluded in 2024, Mandal participated in legislative business and represented constituency-related issues in the House.
