Ahmadpur Junction is a railway station located in the Birbhum district of the Indian state of West Bengal. It serves as a junction station on the Sahibganj Loop line of the Eastern Railway zone of Indian Railways, and is the meeting point of the broad-gauge main line with the branch line connecting to Katwa.

The station lies on the historic Sahibganj Loop, one of the earliest railway alignments built in eastern India by the East Indian Railway Company. Ahmadpur acquired junction status with the construction of a connecting line to Katwa, an important town on the banks of the Bhagirathi river.
The Sahibganj Loop, on which Ahmadpur stands, was opened in stages by the East Indian Railway Company during the 1850s and 1860s, forming part of the original Howrah–Delhi route via Bhagalpur. The Ahmadpur–Katwa light railway, originally a narrow-gauge line, was opened in 1917 to link Ahmadpur on the main line with Katwa. After several years of service, the line was closed for conversion to broad gauge as part of Indian Railways' Project Unigauge, and was subsequently reopened on the wider gauge, integrating it more closely with the rest of the Eastern Railway network.
Ahmadpur Junction handles passenger and express trains running along the Sahibganj Loop between Howrah, Burdwan, Rampurhat and onward to destinations in Jharkhand and Bihar. Local passenger services connect the station with Katwa via the branch line, providing access to towns and villages in the rural interior of Birbhum and Burdwan districts.
The station functions as an interchange between long-distance traffic on the main line and local services on the branch line. It is also a regional access point for travellers heading to nearby destinations, including the Tarapith temple complex, which lies a short distance away and is an important Shakti Peetha pilgrimage site in Birbhum.
