Chauhan grew up in Delhi and took up football at school level before progressing through state and national age-group teams. She pursued higher education in the United Kingdom, completing a master's degree at Loughborough University, which coincided with her transition into competitive football in England.
Chauhan signed for West Ham United Ladies in 2015, then competing in the FA Women's Premier League.
