Aarya Babbar was born into a family closely linked with Indian performing arts. His father, Raj Babbar, is a noted film and stage actor and a politician who has represented constituencies in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. His mother, Nadira Babbar, is a theatre director associated with the Mumbai-based theatre group Ekjute. His elder sister, Juhi Babbar, is also an actor in films, television and theatre. Through his father's earlier marriage to actress Smita Patil, he is the half-brother of actor Prateik Babbar.

Career
