Background
The school was set up to bring the pedagogical model of the French Écoles Centrales to India. The Groupe des Écoles Centrales comprises engineering grandes écoles based in Paris, Lyon, Lille, Nantes, Marseille and Casablanca, and is known for a generalist approach to engineering education that combines strong fundamentals in science, mathematics and engineering with project-based learning and industry exposure.
The institution was originally launched as a standalone engineering college under the Mahindra Educational Institutions banner. It was later subsumed into Mahindra University when the latter was established as a state private university in Telangana, becoming the university's principal engineering school.

The school offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes across major branches of engineering, including computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and electrical engineering, along with newer areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, and computation and mathematics.
